  • 2026-10-14. Correction: every reading of a character is shown with its own meanings, the most used first (的 de, “of”); senses unfit for learners (vulgar or adult) are removed from pages, word tables and PDFs.
  • 2026-10-14. Correction: traditional forms now come from Unicode's Unihan kTraditionalVariant; pages that showed a variant (旹 for 时, 秊 for 年, 妳 for 你) now show 時 or no traditional form.
  • 2026-10-14. Correction: the HSK 2 list of the 2021 standard showed 人, which is an HSK 1 character, in place of 入 (rù, to enter); the source file has the slip.
  • 2026-10-14. Rule change: for the first two levels of each list (JLPT N5 and N4, HSK 1 and 2) a character needs 2 words instead of 5, with its reading and meaning; Japanese words now count every spelling of a JMdict entry (六月 was missed because JMdict spells it 6月 first). New pages: 六 午 勉 妹 很 您 她 啊 辆 and others.
  • 2026-10-14. HSK levels now follow the 2025 HSK syllabus, the one the HSK 3.0 exam uses from 13 December 2026; the 2021 standard and HSK 2.0 stay as tabs. The released hanzi pages are HSK 1 and 2 of the 2025 syllabus.
  • 2026-10-13. Launch rules. A kanji page needs KanjiVG strokes, a reading, a meaning, at least 5 common JMdict words and a JLPT level; a hanzi page needs Make Me a Hanzi strokes, pinyin, a definition, at least 5 CC-CEDICT words and an HSK 3.0 level; a kana page needs its KanjiVG glyph, at least 6 common words and a look-alike or a known origin.
