Short version: StrokeFox counts page views with Google Analytics 4 and never receives what you type, trace or keep in My list. The sections below say what stays in your browser, what that counter records, what the host of the site still sees and what your browser loads. Updated October 14, 2026.
In your browser
My list, recently viewed characters, quiz boxes, your streak, traced characters and the theme are kept in this browser's local storage and are never sent to us. A service worker caches the pages you open so they work offline. Clearing this site's data removes all of it; Safari may also clear it after about a week without a visit, so save a backup file on the practice page.
PDFs and links
Practice sheets are made on your device and named after the kind of sheet or the one character it shows, never after text you typed into a worksheet maker. A shared list travels in the part of the address after #, which browsers do not send to a server and Google Analytics 4 does not record.
Analytics and cookies
Page views are counted with Google Analytics 4. It records the page, the referring link, your browser and device type, an approximate location from your IP address and a device identifier; we read it as totals per page and never look up an individual.
It records the address of a page without the part after the # sign, so a list shared in a link does not reach it. Along with page views it counts a few events, such as scrolling to the end of a page, a click on a link to another site or the first use of a search box; these carry the page address and the link, never what you type.
When you save a PDF, it also gets a file_download event with the kind of sheet (for example character, worksheet or level) and the format, pdf; when you first trace a correct stroke or answer a quiz question on a page, a practice_start event with the kind of practice, trace or quiz. The characters you type, trace or keep in My list and the name of the file are never part of them.
Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization are refused on every page and in every country, so nothing measured here feeds advertising profiling. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the analytics storage is refused as well, by default and without asking: those visits still reach Google as page views, but the counter writes nothing to your device and keeps no identifier from one page to the next.
Outside those countries Google Analytics 4 sets its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy, named _ga and _ga_ followed by the property identifier; they tell one browser from another, so a second page in the same visit is not counted as a second visitor. Inside those countries it sets none. No advertising cookie is set on any page. The site itself adds none of its own; what it keeps in your browser’s local storage stays on this device. The pages, the tracing and the PDFs work the same if you block the counter with a content blocker or Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

What your browser loads
Your browser fetches one outside service on the pages of this site, and this is the whole list:
Google Analytics 4 — counts page views so we can see which pages are read. Your browser fetches it from www.googletagmanager.com and sends the page views to Google’s collection servers under google-analytics.com and analytics.google.com, and outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it sets its own cookies under its own policy.Everything else — the stroke data, fonts, images, styles and scripts — is served from this domain, and the PDF is built in your browser. What you type, trace or keep in My list is not sent to Google Analytics 4 or to any other outside server.
Our host
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site. We do not receive or keep them.
Children
StrokeFox is a general-audience site with no accounts or sign-up forms, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The page counter described above measures visits to the pages; it never receives what anyone types or traces.
Your rights
We hold no account or profile data about you; the page-view records described above are kept for us by Google Analytics 4. You can ask what we hold, ask for deletion or object by email, and, in the EU or UK, complain to your data-protection authority. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
