Hangul quiz
Read a letter and choose its sound, type the romanization, or see the sound and write the letter with your finger. Your streak stays on this device.
The quiz needs JavaScript. The chart works without it.
Groups
Choose any of the four groups: the 14 basic consonants, the 5 double consonants, the 10 basic vowels and the 11 compound vowels. Start with the basic vowels; they are the shortest list and every syllable needs one. If a letter will not come out right, watch it again on the hangul stroke order page.
About the romanization
Answers use Revised Romanization, the system on South Korean road signs. ㅇ is accepted as ng, its sound at the end of a syllable; at the start it is silent. Consonants that change between the start and the end of a syllable are asked with their starting sound.
The full chart with names and both sounds is on the Korean alphabet page.
