Tian zi ge paper

Blank Chinese writing grids: tian zi ge with a dotted cross, mi zi ge with diagonals too, or plain squares, A4 or Letter.

What the lines are for

The dotted cross of tian zi ge (田字格) splits each square into four, so you can place each stroke where it belongs. Mi zi ge (米字格) adds the diagonals, useful for characters with slanting strokes such as 人 and 文.

Square sizes

Large squares (0.9 in) suit beginners and children; 0.65 in matches most workbooks; 0.55 in fits more practice on a page once your characters are steady.

With characters

To print models to trace in the same grid, use the Chinese writing practice sheets; Japanese learners can use the same grids on the kanji sheets, and write compositions on genkouyoushi paper. Everything else is on the worksheets page.
