Genkouyoushi paper
Printable Japanese manuscript paper: 200 or 400 squares, vertical or horizontal, with the space for furigana between the lines.
How to write on genkouyoushi
Write vertically from the top right, one character per square, and leave the first square of a paragraph empty. Punctuation takes its own square, and small kana such as ゃ and っ sit in the upper right of their square in vertical writing.
Sizes
Choose 200 squares (20 by 10) for school assignments or 400 (20 by 20, landscape) for essays and composition practice. A4 is the Japanese standard; Letter keeps the same grid with slightly smaller squares.
Practice guides
Switch on the dotted cross inside each square to help balance characters. For drills of single kanji, the kanji practice sheets print models to trace; all sheets are on the worksheets page.
