How to write 网 (wǎng, “net”)

网 (wǎng), an HSK 2 character, means “net”, “network” and “to net”. It is HSK 2 in the 2025 syllabus, up from level 1 in the 2021 standard. The traditional form is 網, 14 strokes instead of 6. On its own it is an HSK 6 word; it also forms 上网 (“to go online”), 网上 (“online”) and 网球 (“tennis”). Japanese reads it mou, “net”.
