How to write 吧 (ba, “modal particle”)
吧, an HSK 1 character, is read ba for “modal particle” and “...right?”, and also bā (“bar”). As a left-right character it splits into 口 (“mouth”, the radical), strokes 1–3; 巴 (“to long for”), strokes 4–7, written the left part first. On its own it is an HSK 1 word; it also forms 酒吧 (“bar (place to buy drinks)”), 吧女 (“barmaid”) and 网吧 (“Internet café”). Japanese reads it ha, “emphatic final particle”.
