How to write 没 (méi, “have not”)

没, an HSK 1 character, is read méi for “have not”, and also mò (“drowned”). The traditional form is 沒. Among the HSK words it appears in 没事 (“it's not important”), 没有 (“haven't”) and 没关系 (“it doesn't matter”). Japanese reads it botsu, “drown”, as a JLPT N1 kanji.
