How to write へ (he) in hiragana
へ (he) turns into べ (be) and ぺ (pe) with the voicing marks. It grew out of the cursive form of the kanji 部 (“section”). One flowing stroke draws it: it starts at the left and runs up and right then down and right, ending at the bottom right. Words that start with it include 平和 (“peace”), 変化 (“change”), 平均 (“average”) and 部屋 (“room”).
